Acquisition bolsters company’s position as a premier supplier of difficult to manufacture components for the aerospace and defense industries

ROCHESTER, NY, November 30, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — Global Precision Products, LLC, an AS9100 and ISO:13485 certified company and a leading provider of contract manufacturing services to aerospace, defense, medical and piezoelectric sensor companies announced that it has acquired Will-Mor Manufacturing, LLC. 

Founded in 1953 and headquartered in Seabrook, NH, Will-Mor Manufacturing is an AS9100 certified, industry leading and trusted source of difficult to machine, mission critical engine components for both commercial and military aerospace applications, as well as ordnance for the defense industry.

The combined offerings also now include micro-swiss machining up to large diameter horizontal milling and turning and advanced automation technologies, as well as numerous secondary operations, such as welding, EDM and assembly.

Rush, NY – Global Precision Products, LLC, an AS9100D certified contract manufacturer of tight tolerance, high precision machined components recently made a significant investment in new machining technology. Primarily known as a Swiss-style turning company, Global Precision’s recent additions expand their vertical and horizontal CNC milling capabilities.

Expanded vertical CNC milling capabilities include the addition of a Doosan DMP500/2SP vertical machining center with dual spindle 4^th axis for making parts out of 7075 aluminum. Two spindles operating in the same working envelope allow high-volume and greater productivity by creating two parts at the same time. The second spindle has a unique 20mm W axis that allows for difference in the tool lengths, and two 4th-axis rotary tables retrofit for mirror imaged operation. The outcome is double productivity and capability.

Horizontal CNC milling capabilities were added with the acquisition of a Makino a51nx Horizontal Machining Center, including special options for high-volume, high-speed machining. The new HMC has a 20,000-rpm spindle with HSK-A63 toolholders, 133 tool changer, and Pro6™ controlwith Super GI.5 – the latest generation of Super Geometric Intelligence. Super GI maintains the highest possible feed rates while maintaining precise workpiece geometry.

The Makino HMC also includes a High-Speed Smooth TCP (G43.4). This function includes Tool Center Point Control which is intended to perform 4 and 5 axis machining by accomplishing tool length compensation while changing the attitude of the tool. High- Speed Smooth TCP helps detect any sharp discontinuities in the tool orientation generated from the CAM system and smooths the motion to reduce machine shock. The results are smoother surfaces and shorter cycle times.
